Both Laois and Offaly welcome new managers into their inter-county hurling set-ups this week.

Eamonn Kelly has been appointed as the new Laois hurling boss, while Offaly have opted to secure the services of Kevin Ryan.

Ryan is set for ratification next week and has the experience of managing counties Antrim, Tyrone and lifted the Christy Ring Cup with his first year in charge of Carlow back in 2008.

The former Waterford midfielder was previously part of the Deise backroom team. He has also won county titles as manager of his home club Mount Sion and Wexford’s Oulart-the-Ballagh.

He will be joined on the management team by former Waterford player Paul Flynn as a forwards coach and the remainder of his backroom team will be announced at a later date.

Kelly, meanwhile, managed Offaly last season and will now take over at Laois after leaving his former county in September. He was in charge of the Kerry hurlers in 2014 and took charge of the Faithful last September.
