Nick Krygios might have eventually apologised and accepted a fine after making a controversial on-court remark towards two-time Grand Slam champions Stanislaw Wawrinka this week, but according to his brother the Australian and Swiss tennis players got into a locker-room scuffle in the immediate aftermath of their match.

Microphones picked up Kyrgios telling Wawrinka that another player had "banged your girlfriend", reportedly in reference to Croatian women's player Donna Vekic.

According to Christos Krygios in a Facebook post which has since been taken down, Wawrinka, "put his hands on nick - grabbed him and said a whole bunch of abusive s---. I've studied law and that s--- is abuse bro. Lucky we aren't pressing charges.

"The p---k is lucky I wasn't there or he would have been withdrawing from the next few tournaments."

Christos Kyrgios also courted controversy on Australian radio when he had an interview cut for making a lewd comment about Vekic.
