Keith Fahey could be on his way to Leeds United.
According to The Star, the Irish international could join if he proves he is fit after a recent hip and groin operation.
The midfielder has been without a club since he was released by Birmingham City at the end of last season.
The 30-year-old missed most of the season after he was granted compassionate leave in November, which was followed by an injury lay-off.
He was recently spotted at last Friday's UCD v Shelbourne game where he was sitting alongside Shels players in the stands.
That prompted speculation of a short-term League of Ireland contract, although this was quashed by Shels manager Johnny McDonnell.
