Jordan Spieth leads the way in Hawaii after a second round 64 at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions last night.

The world number one began the day on seven-under-par, one shot behind first-round leader Patrick Reed.

It was his putting prowess that shone through, holing seven birdies and an eagle to go round in nine under par, 16 under for the tournament.

The highlight of the round was his eagle on the 9th hole, perfectly weighted to cap an excellent round for the Texan.

Reed remains tied for second with Kevin Kisner, who also went around in nine-under, and Fabian Gomez on 12-under-par.

Closer to home, Graeme McDowell recovered from his opening day 75 to card a 70 which leaves him 15 shots off the pace and sitting in 29th, one-under for the tournament.

Padraig Harrington enjoyed another good round after he followed up his opening round 70 with a second day 68.

Harrington is just seven shots off the leader Spieth, in 11th position.
