FAI Chief executive John Delaney says Martin O'Neill will sign his new deal soon.

During Euro 2016, the Ireland manager had revealed that he had reached an agreement to continue as Ireland manager but had yet to actually sign a contract.

His assistant Roy Keane had also been revealed to be renewing his deal along with the rest of the backroom staff.

Delaney was speaking at a Sport Ireland event and said the deal will be signed in the next week or so.

"There’s no issues about that. Before the Euros we announced, with Martin, that the management team’s contracts would be renewed and that they would be staying with us through the World Cup qualifiers," he says.

"I spoke to Martin last week, the contracts are there to be signed and it’s only a matter of myself and Martin meeting up to sign. I would say in the next week or so, the next time I meet him, but everything is agreed."
