Paul Jewell is taking legal advice following his surprise departure from West Brom.
He has left the club a week after being appointed the joint assistant head coach to boss Tony Pulis.
No explanation has been given for Jewell's exit. But the man himself says it was not by mutual consent.
In a statement, Jewell said: "(My exit) was not by mutual consent and it is in the hands of my lawyer. I will not be making any further comment at this stage."
Former Tottenham and Queens Park Rangers manager Gerry Francis, who has worked with Pulis at Stoke and Crystal Palace, has joined the coaching staff at the Hawthorns.
