Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher believes it is unlikely that his old side will qualify for the Champions League this season.

They are five points off the Premier League's Top Four after consecutive 1-0 victories, including a win at struggling Sunderland last night.

Carragher told Sky Sports News that manager Jurgen Klopp needs to prioritise building a side capable of success in the next campaign.

"This Liverpool squad isn't good enough. There was talk of a title challenge. [But] this Liverpool squad isn't good enough for that. I don't think Liverpool will make the Top Four really, so Jurgen Klopp between now and the end of the season will still be assessing his squad and where he can improve because that's where Liverpool need to get," he said.

Meanwhile, the former England defender had a laugh at his own expense on TV last night as he re-created his touching moment with Thierry Henry from the day Brendan Rodgers was sacked - with the help of fellow pundit and ex-Reds team-mate Jamie Redknapp.
