Former Mayo manager James Horan is giving Kildare every chance of giving Kerry a run for their money in their All-Ireland quarter-final clash.

Kildare came to life after defeating Cork in Saturday's qualifier and with Jason Ryan's side showing signs of a revival ahead of the Kingdom challenge, and James told Off The Ball that it has all the hallmarks of an interesting clash.

"Momentum, that word, there's definitely a thesis in it in Gaelic football and what momentum can do to teams. But it's amazing. [Kildare's] season is good, they've saved it if you like. So all that worry and concern and those dark weeks they had after Dublin, they're all gone and they're looking forward to playing a game of football now against Kerry and I'd say they can't wait," said James, before making a tantalising comment, "You know what? They'll give Kerry an interesting time of it".

He is also looking forward to the midfield "tussle" between the two teams, concluding that the final score "could be close".
