A place in the last eight of the Rugby World Cup awaits Ireland today as they count the cost of yesterday's win over France in Cardiff.

The Right Hook presenter George Hook joined Ivan this morning on Newstalk Breakfast to discuss the win which means Ireland are unbeaten in the pool stages of the previous two World Cups.

"It was a victory for moral courage", Hook to Ivan as he paid praise to the Irish side, especially Ian Madigan, who replace Johnny Sexton after 20 minutes. He also singled out Peter O'Mahony and Iain Henderson for praise.

Speaking about the French side, Hook stated that they were "15 outstanding individuals, but that's all they were", citing a lack of fluidity in their side. "Bastareaud was appalling yesterday" according to Hook. The centre last until the hour mark and that showed how much of "a foot" Saint-Andre is as a coach according to Hook.

Argentina await Ireland in the quarter finals and Hook is confident of a win despite "Argentina being the most improved team in the tournament". They have also had "an easier ride" to the quarter finals including a win over Namibia this weekend.
