Ireland have made an excellent start to the European Badminton Championships in Kolding, Denmark.

Ireland won three matches from three on Day 1.

Chloe and Sam Magee enjoyed victory over the fifth seeds Jacco Piek and Selena Arends of the Netherlands.

Meanwhile, Scott Evans, who reached the Round of 16 at the 2016 Rio Olympics, came from behind to beat Croatian, Zvonimir Durkinjak.

He lost the first game 21-13 and trailed 11-1 in the second before turning it around to take that 21-17.

He repeated that score in the third to secure victory.

Completing the Irish clean sweep was Rachael Darragh who also won her opening match, beating the Belgian, Flore Vadenhoucke.
