Rob Kearney 7
The full back struggled at times in attack but was as confident as ever under the high ball.
Tommy Bowe N/A
The Ulster winger only last 13 minutes before leaving the field on a stretcher.
Keith Earls 6
A quiet day in midfield for Earls. It was his quietest performance of the tournament in which he scored three tries.
Rob Henshaw 6
The Connacht star found it difficult to assert himself in the midfield after last weeks heroics against France.
Dave Kearney 6
Like his brother Rob, Dave found it difficult to break down the Argentine defence.
Ian Madigan 7
Missed a crucial kick to level the game when losing 23-20. A successful kick could have turned the game Ireland's way.
Conor Murray 6
A knock on from the base of the scrum led to Tuculet's try with ten minutes left. That was curtains for Joe Schmidt's side.
Cian Healy 6
Healy may have been used better off the bench, as Jack McGrath was more noticeable in his 30 minutes on the field.
Rory Best 8
In what will be Best's last game for Ireland in a World Cup, he was perfect with his throws at lineout time and was excellent at the breakdown.
Mike Ross 7
A cornerstone of the Irish scrum in recent years, Ross will have hoped his World Cup swansong was in happier circumstances.
Devin Toner 7
The Leinster star led the lineout in O'Connell's absence and was effective in the loose all game.
Iain Henderson 7
One of the star's of the tournament for Ireland, the Ulster star left everything on the field as Ireland chased the game.
Jordi Murphy 7
Murphy's second start of the tournament saw him struggle early in the game at the breakdown. He did brilliantly to get Fitzgerald's off load and score Ireland's second try.
Chris Henry 7
Amazing in the second half at the breakdown, the Ulster star struggled in the first 20 minutes as the Argentine pack dominated at ruck time.
Jamie Heaslip 8
Heaslip performed excellently in the loose. In a game, where Ireland needed a leader after Paul O'Connell's injury, Heaslip stood up and was counted.
Replacements:
Luke Fitzgerald 8
Came on after 15 minutes to replace Bowe. He was Ireland's most dangerous back scoring a try and setting up Murphy's in the second half.
Jack McGrath 8
McGrath played the last 30 minutes when Ireland were well on top. He was excellent at the breakdown as Ireland looked to level the game.
Nathan White 7
Potentially White's last game for Ireland. The World Cup bolter player the last 30 with McGrath and performed well at the breakdown.
