Ireland's crickets have lost their One Day International against Afghanistan in Belfast.

Having been set a target of 251 to win in Stormont, Ireland were bowled out 40 runs short of that score.

An impressive knock of 60 from Ed Joyce appeared to have put the hosts on course for a victory, but a tail-order collapse saw Afghanistan bowl their opponents out with 10 balls to spare.

Ireland first beat Afghanistan in 2010 and have a winning record overall against them in One Day Internationals.

Both teams will meet again on Thursday at the same venue.
