Derry City have parted-company with their manager Peter Hutton.
Hutton has been sacked after the club's disappointing FAI Cup defeat to Cork City on Monday night.
The Candystripes were beaten in a quarter-final replay at Turners Cross, while they currently sit in 10th place in the Premier Division table and just a point above the drop zone.
Assistant manager Paul Hegarty has been asked to take over as caretaker manager until the end of the season.
Former Shelbourne midfielder Stuart Byrne was on Off The Ball tonight and reacted to the news minutes after it broke.
"I have to say, I think this is a big mistake. Drogheda was their last league game but they performed quite well against Cork in the Cup and maybe could've won the first leg but got beaten last night in the replay," said Stuey.
"I think at this stage of the season, I don't see the point [of changing manager]. I think what they need now is wins. What they don't need is a manager coming in, looking at the situation and saying 'we just need to shut up shop here until the end of the season'. That could be dangerous for them."
