Former Yeovil Town, Hereford United and Crawley Town player Ben Smith spoke to Team 33 on this weeks show about the life of a lower league footballer.

Smith has written the excellent book Journeyman: One Man's Odyssey Through the Lower Leagues of English Football about his time playing playing in the Football League and also in non league football.

The midfielder began his career at Arsenal as a youth player before moving on to Reading and eventually moving to Yeovil where he spent three years at Huish Park.

Ben spoke about some of the more memorable off field incidents including a naked bus trip on the M40 and some yoghurt flavoured raisins. He also gave praise to current Rotherman manager Steve Evans who he called "a nutcase".
