German sports newspaper Bild has reported that Manchester United have made a bid of €85million to land Bayern Munich striker Thomas Muller.
Muller made his breakthrough at Bayern under the current Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal in 2009. The Dutch manager has been a long time admirer of the German striker.
Manchester United's striking options are currently limited after selling Danny Welbeck and Robin van Persie in the past 12 months. Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez remain the only recognised strikers at the club along with youngster James Wilson.
Muller scored twice for the German champions as they defeated Hamburg 5-0 in the opening round of the Bundesliga last weekend.
