Europe Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley has included three-time major winner Padraig Harrington as one of his vice-captains.

The Dubliner has got the nod along with Miguel Angel Jimenez and Jose Maria Olazabal as Europe prepare to take on the USA at Gleneagles later this month.

They will be joined Des Smyth and Scotland's Sam Torrance, who were named earlier this year.

Smyth was on Off The Ball last night to explain Europe's three wild cards picks and also detailed why former World No 1 Luke Donald was left out.

USA captain Tom Watson also named his three wild card picks last night.
