Lewis Hamilton has claimed his third pole position in a row, a first for his F1 career, at the Hungarian Grand Prix. The Mercedes driver was in fine form as he beat Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel with a flying lap of 1.19.388, 0.034 seconds ahead of the reigning world champion.
Hamilton came in 0.332 seconds quicker than his Mercedes teammate nice Rosberg, who came in fourth behind Romain Grosjean. Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen were fifth and sixth, respectively.
"I was really surprised to get pole," Hamilton told the BBC. "I was expecting Sebastian to get it and it didn't even feel that great a lap. We've brought some upgrades this weekend and the guys have been working incredibly hard."
