Gary Anderson retained his PDC World Championship title after defeating Adrian Lewis 7-5 in sets in the final at Alexandra Palace in London.

Similar to last year, Anderson won the match by finishing on a double 12 but it was a fantastic 170 finish in the penultimate leg and then opening with a 180 in the final leg that set the Scot on his way to back-to-back titles.

Lewis threw everything at Anderson in the final couple of sets as he turned a 6-4 deficit into 6-5 and looked like he might set up a final set shoot out.

However, it wasn't to be as Anderson's late heroics sealed the win in a record breaking match, with the 34 180s the most ever recorded in darts match.

Victory here means the Scot and two-time World Champion scoops a winner's cheque of £300,000 while Lewis takes home £150,000 for his troubles.
