Conor McGregor is now the man to beat if anyone wants to get a UFC Featherweight title shot after his 13-second defeat of Jose Aldo last month.

But Frankie Edgar has been quite frank in his belief that he will not get a chance to topple the Dubliner.

Speaking to MMA Hour's Ariel Helwani, the fighter who defeated Chad Mendes, hinted at frustration.

"I want to fight McGregor for the belt as soon as possible. Am I going to get it? I f***ing doubt it," said the 34-year-old.

"I've been knocking on the door for the title shot for a while. It started with Cub [Swanson]. If he beat me, he was promised the title shot. I beat him in dominating fashion and I'm not even considered for that title shot.

"I take it in my stride. I take everything in my stride. I really do think I am a company man but it's not really panning out for me being that way."
