Back in 2007, there were major ripples in Tipperary hurling when former six-time All-Star corner-forward Eoin Kelly was dropped by then-manager Babs Keating for an All-Ireland quarter-final against Wexford.

Kelly, who retired from the inter-county scene after last year, was part of our Off The Ball panel in Ballacolla, Co Laois tonight and he looked back on the moment it was revealed that he was off the starting XV.

"It was a turbulent season. I remember we played Offaly in a qualifier and the six forwards that played in the previous qualifier against Dublin were in the shower. Then five of them were removed from the shower and I was left there standing," he said.

"Then there were five new forwards brought in and this was right before we played Offaly, so Offaly should have turned us over that night." 

Kelly then remembered the "horrible feeling" and how he found out he was being as the team was read out ahead of the Wexford match.
