Roy Hodgson has named three uncapped players in his squad for England's end of season internationals with Ireland and Slovenia next month.
Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton, along with Leicester City's Jamie Vardy and Queens Park Rangers' Charlie Austin will be hoping to impress in Dublin and Ljubljana.
Vardy has scored four goals for Leicester in the Premier League this season. The striker's rise through the divisions has been meteoric. This time five years ago he played for Stocksbrige Park Steels FC in the Northern Premier League Premier Division. the seventh tier of English football.
Charlie Austin has been one of the Premier League's top scorers this season despite QPR's relegation. He scored 17 goals in the league.
Fraser Forster's knee injury has opened up a spot for Tom Heaton in the squad. The Burnley goalkeeper has represented his country at all levels up to Under 21's.
England's game in Dublin will be their first time to return since the 1995 friendly was abandoned between the two teams due to crowd trouble when Ireland were leading 1-0.
