Dundalk put six goals past a hapless Limerick FC at Oriel Park tonight.

Brian Gartland and David McMillan scored two goals apiece to help Stephen Kenny's side maintain their three point lead at the top of the table with a commanding 6-2 victory.

Second-placed Cork City also bagged maximum points tonight with a 2-0 win over Derry City at the Brandywell thanks to second half goals from Karl Sheppard and Darren Dennehy.

Shamrock Rovers also kept pace by taking all three points in Galway with Kieran 'Marty' Waters scoring the winner 20 minutes from time.

A 90th minute Tiernan Mulvenna finish also saw Drogheda United edge Bohemians at Dalymount Park.

In the late kick-off, two first-half goals from Chris Forrester helped St Pat's to lead 3-0 at home to Longford Town.
