Dublin have beaten Wexford at Croke Park this afternoon to advance to the Leinster football final. A 2-25 to 1-12 win was as dominant as the score line suggests. The sides were close at half-time, with the reigning All-Ireland champions just 4 points ahead at the break. However, their unchecked dominance began early in the second half when a pinpoint pass from Michael Darragh set up Cormac Costello who applied a precise finish to open Dublin’s goal account. Costello finished the day with 1-04.
Paul Flynn added Dublin’s second goal in the final few moments with a powerful, controlled finish into the roof of the net.
Jim Gavin’s side will meet Meath in the final. The Royal were 2-16 to 0-17 winners over Kildare in the day’s first semi-final.
