The Irish duo of Michael Conlan and Joe Ward enjoyed massive success in Bulgaria this evening as they won gold in their respective divisions at the European Elite Boxing Championships in Samokov, Bulgaria.
Conlan won the first of the golds, defeating Great Britain's Qais Ashfaq on scores of 30-27, 29-28, 30-27 in the bantamweight final to win on a unanimous decision.
The Belfast native had already faced Ashfaq in last year's Commonwealth Games final and on that occasion he again came out on top.
Then it was Joe Ward's turn in the final of the light-heavyweight final.
He faced Peter Mullenberg of the Netherlands in the final and after a classy opening round, he looked untouchable running out winner on a score of 29-28, 30-27, 30-27.
