Diarmuid Connolly has been handed a 12-week ban for his altercation with an official during Dublin's Leinster SFC quarter-final victory over Carlow at O'Moore Park.
Connolly, a 2016 All Star and crucial to the Dublin side which lifted the All-Ireland crown last October, was cited for putting his hands on linesman Ciaran Branagan.
The St. Vincents clubman is expected to be out of action until a potential All-Ireland semi-final, but a Dublin appeal is expected to be lodged to the ban proposed by the Central Competitions Control Committee (CCCC).
