Westmeath forward Dessie Dolan has announced his retirement from inter-county football. Dolan’s decision follows Westmeath’s defeat to Cavan in yesterday’s All-Ireland qualifier tie. The Leinster side lost by just one point, 1-15 to 1-14. Dolan contributed with 2 points.
Dolan’s inter-county career began in 1999 and was most memorable for his achievements in 2004, when Westmeath lifted the Leinster title and the Garrycastle man picked up an All-Star award.
