For all the sides not involved in Allianz Football League finals, the All Ireland championship now beckon next on the horizon.

But what can we take from the league action this Spring?

Former Mayo midfielder David Brady talked Mayo and Monaghan's Jack McCarron but he also picked his winners and losers from the 2017 Allianz Football League on Off The Ball.

Winners

"I was very impressed with Louth," said Brady of a team that reached the Division 3 final and will be playing second tier football next year.

"They deserve what they got," he added.

Another side that impressed him will be Louth's Division 3 final opponents and fellow promoted side who did so in dramatic fashion.

"And you know what Tipperary again," he said, describing the win over Armagh as a "fair achievement" for a side that did well in summer 2016.

The former Mayo footballer continued: "I've also been impressed with Galway. They have the likes of Michael Meehan back. He's going to bring professionalism, experience and you're going 'this is good'.

"The big winner for me is Kildare as well."

Losers

"The big losers? Lookit, I remember 10 or 11 years ago by the skin of our teeth playing an All Ireland semi final against Laois and they took us to a replay," said Brady.

"Only for I scored a point that I'd never scored before, they'd have probably won it. And now you're going, 'Now they're in Division 4 football!'

"And Armagh again, still in Division 3."
