Cue card has won the King George at Kempton beating Vautour on the line in a thrilling finish.

Don Cossack was aiming to become the first Irish-trained winner of the Grade 1 race since Kicking King won it back in 2005. The Gordon Elliot trained horse fell just as it seemed as though he might mount a challenge and Cue Card went on to pip Vautour at the post.

The race had thinned out to contain just Vautour, Cue Card and Don Cossack on the home turn before Don Cossack fell and left Vautour to make up the difference.

After the race, jockey Paddy Brennan said, "This is the best day of my life - it's truly unbelievable, I won't lie and say that there was a lot more left in the tank, but if anyone can get this horse back to win the Gold Cup, it's going to be Colin Tizzard."
