Connacht have been drawn into Pool 1 of next seasons European Challenge Cup.

Pat Lam's side were among the top seeds in the draw that took place in Switzerland, due to their position in last seasons Pro12.

Former European champions Brive join Connacht in Pool 1. The French side finished in ninth place in last seasons Pro 12.

The Westerners will also be travelling to the north of England as they were drawn with third seeds Newcastle Falcons.

A trip to Russia also awaits Connacht as they were drawn with debutants Enisei-STM.

It was also announced at the draw that the final is to take place in Lyon, France next May.
