John Carver's reign as Newcastle manager could be nearing an end.

Reports in the local press say Carver held a meeting with the club's Managing Director, Lee Charnley this morning.

Newcastle have lost their last eight games on the bounce, and have won just twice during Carver's 16-game reign.

With just three games of their season remaining, the Magpies sit just two points above the Premier League relegation zone.
