Carl Frampton looks set to fight in Belfast in his first boxing match since losing his WBA super-featherweight world title.

Frampton suffered his first ever professional defeat when he was beaten by Leo Santa Cruz in January. The 30-year-old became the first boxer from Northern Ireland to win titles in two different weight divisions when he beat the same opponent last summer.

He's tweeted to keep July 29th free but it's not known yet who he'll face.

Frampton said he would be holding a press conference next week to share details of his upcoming fights. The Tigers Bay fighter had promised after his last defeat that his next fight would be in Belfast, with some hoping to see him return home and fight in Windsor Park.

According to the BBC, the Irish FA has confirmed that it is still in negotiations with Frampton over the use of the stadium.

Belfast's SSE Arena is considered an alternative venue for the fight.
