The Cork ladies football team has received a timely boost, following the return of 11-time All-Ireland winner Bríd Stack.
Stack has been named in Ephie Fitzgerald's 30-player panel, ahead of a Division 1 National League clash with Galway in Mallow this Sunday.
Stack's return brings some respite to the Cork panel, following the news that fellow 11-time All-Ireland winner Deirdre O'Reilly, has retired from inter-county football.
Other Cork stalwarts including Briege Corkery and Geraldine O'Flynn have yet to make a return to the panel.
Corkery, Stack, O'Reilly and Rena Buckley, all took an extended break from the Cork squad, following an incredible 11th All-Ireland crown in 12 years last September.
They held on against a resilient Dublin side to defend the Brendan Martin Cup, in a final that was marred by controversy, when Hawk-Eye technology was not present to determine whether or not Carla Rowe's first half point went over the bar.
This Sunday's game is a top-of-the-table clash between Cork and Galway, who both have four wins from their first five league games so far.
