Liverpool legend John Barnes wants to follow in the footsteps of Robbie Fowler and Steve McManaman by taking up a coaching role at the club.
Last week, manager Brendan Rodgers revealed that Fowler, McManaman and Rob Jones will be helping to coach the Liverpool youth teams as part of a scheme to increase the influence of club legends.
Barnes has made it clear that he wants to join them in a coaching capacity:

“It is the modern truth that we now lack legends that can identify with the club. I feel that being part of the system would benefit the club a lot since I understand the culture."
