For the first time in their club's history, Ballyea have qualified for the senior Munster hurling club final after an incredible comeback against Thurles Sarsfields.

Tony Kelly inspired the Clare side to rally from seven points down with 1-10 while All Star Football nominee Gary Brennan forced extra-time grabbing with a goal at the death.

Today's momentous achievement comes just one week after Ballyea captured their first Clare SHC title.

Sarsfields stalwart Padraic Maher kept his side's noses in front during the Ballyea resurgence and in attack, Aidan McCormack contributed 1-4 to compliment the frees scored by Pa Bourke.

But a free and '65 from Niall Deasy ensured that the day would be Ballyea's and they now have a provincial decider to look towards.
