Gavin Duffy replaces Robbie Henshaw at full back for Connachts clash with Cardiff at the Armns park tomorrow.
Henshaw moves to the centre while Tiernan O'Halloran replaces Danie Poolman on the wing.
Ulster have made seven changes to their side to face Glasgow Warriors at Ravenhill tomorrow.
One of the changes was forced as Ireland winger Andrew Trimble was unavailable for selection having suffered a finger injury.
He will have surgery tomorrow morning and is expected to be out for between four and six weeks.
