Waterford's Austin Gleeson and Galway's Paul Conroy have scooped the Player of the Month awards in hurling and football respectively for the month of June.

The pair were presented with GAA-GPA Opel Player of the Month trophies at Croke Park.

Gleeson played a key role in guiding Waterford to the Munster SHC final against Tipperary with victory over Clare.

Conroy, meanwhile, was involved in Mayo's shock victory over Mayo in the Connacht SFC semi-final and will once be one of the men to watch this weekend in the Connacht final replay with Roscommon.
