Arsenal have won an appeal against the red card shown to defender Gabriel during Saturday's Premier League defeat at Chelsea.

The Brazilian was dismissed after a series of clashes with Blues striker Diego Costa at the end of the first half of the 2-0 loss at Stamford Bridge.

He will now not serve a three-match ban for that red card.

The former Villarreal player is subject to a separate Football Association charge of improper conduct, and has until Thursday evening to respond to that.

Costa has also been charged with violent conduct.
