Arsenal have have been given a huge boost ahead of the start of the new Premier League season.

The Gunners have announced that Santi Cazorla and Theo Walcott have both agreed new contracts.

Walcott has signed a new four-year deal, which also makes him the club's highest-paid player.

The length of Cazorla's deal has yet to be revealed, but it should end links with a return to Spain for the foreseeable future.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have also been linked with a £35M (€49.5M) bid for Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski as they seek an elite forward to fire them to Premier League glory this season.

Arsene Wenger had been said to be keen on trying to engineer a deal for Real Madrid and France's Karim Benzema, but The Daily Express claim Arsenal will now turn their attention to a big money move for Poland international Lewandowski.

Although current lead striker Olivier Giroud scored 19 goals in all competitions for Arsenal last season, many critics, including ex-Gunners legend Thierry Henry, have openly doubted whether he is the player to deliver goals consistently as they look to build on an encouraging conclusion to the 2014/15 campaign.
