Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has agreed a move to join AS Roma on a season-long loan.
Roma has been interested in signing the 25-year-old on a permanent deal, but the Polish international still harbours ambitions of winning back his first-team place at Arsenal, while he also remains a favourite of manager Arsene Wenger.
Petr Cech's arrival at Arsenal from a decade at Chelsea limited Szczesny's first team chances for the upcoming season, leaving him to fight for a second-in-command role with David Ospina, who had ousted him as No 1 in the second-half of the last campaign.
Meanwhile, speculation is mounting that Argentina goalkeeper Sergio Romero will replace the departing ex-Barcelona star Victor Valdes as deputy keeper to David De Gea at Manchester United.
United have reportedly agreed a deal with Italian side Sampdoria to bring him to Old Trafford.
