Sevilla continued their excellent transfer window on deadline day by fending off apparent interest from England for their talisman Carlos Bacca. Mixed with the acquisition of some fresh attacking talent and selling high on three players in their squad, they can be very happy with their summer business.

The Europa League Champions appear set to make a fresh start this season having lost three of their most talented players last season in Ivan Rakitic, Alberto Moreno and Frederico Fazio. It would seem as though the roots of their 2013 Europa league winning side have been torn up. Rakitic is 26, however, and was destined to move to Barcelona, the fee received for Fazio of €16 million was impossible to turn down and Moreno has been tipped for bigger and better things for quite some time.

With such departures comes a new era at Sevilla F.C that has been ushered in with a win and a draw from their first two fixtures of the La Liga season. They have carried out some shrewd business in the transfer market in order to keep them from capsizing due to the loss of such monumental players within their squad. The singings of Denis Suarez, Gerard Deulofeu, Ever Banega and Iago Aspas could give this side a new dynamic that sees them competing in the same manner as Atletico Madrid did last season in challenging for the title and breaking into the Champions League on a regular basis. The side from Southern Spain may have lost out on the defensive side of the ball but the general sentiment is that if the incoming players can click then the strength and depth that they have accumulated along the attacking lines of the field will win games for them on their own.

Ever Banega is the kind of player who can fill the void left by Ivan Rakitic and can really thrive as a central midfielder for Sevilla if his potential can be tapped into. Deulofeu, who was wanted back by Everton boss Roberto Martinez, arrives in Sevilla with a chip on his shoulder and a point to prove amidst a potent attack, which has all the ingredients for entertainment for the fans and goals for the team. If he properly adapts himself to the squad and applies his ability, this could prove to be the signing of the summer in La Liga. Iago Aspas had a horrible time in England at Liverpool but has proven that he can succeed in La Liga after a very productive time with Celta Vigo and can regain this form again with a team in Sevilla that is all about speed on the counter. Denis Suarez, possibly the pick of the litter, is a 20-year-old from Barcelona's academy and comes with high expectations. He will play in the centre of an attacking trio midfield, with Carlos Bacca the lone striker, and can create from every area of the field.

There is wealths of talent at the top three clubs in Spain and their seems a willingness to loan players out in order to accommodate the younger players. With the sale of Rakitic to Barcelona, Sevilla have struck up a solid relationship with the club that is evident in the loan signings of Deulofeu and Suarez. These kind of arrivals are essential to Sevilla challenging at the top and putting integrating these players into an already solid squad is imperative to Sevilla making themselves genuine contenders in La Liga.
