UCD and Shamrock Rovers have both been knocked out of Europe tonight.

The two clubs were well beaten in their Europa League qualifiers to complete a disappointing week for the Airtricity League clubs.

UCD were beaten 5-1 in Belfield tonight as they slumped to a 6-1 aggregate loss to Slovan Bratislava.

Despite's Ryan Swan's goal for The Students tonight, the visitors completely outclassed the First Division side, with Slovakian international Robert Vittek scoring a hat-trick.

Meanwhile, Shamrock Rovers lost 2-1 tonight against Odd  Ballklubb in Norway.

Gavin Brennan's late goal was no more than a consolation for the Hoops as they were beaten 4-1 across both legs.
