Republic of Ireland striker Anthony Stokes has pleaded guilty to assaulting an Elvis impersonator in June 2013.

The incident which took place outside Buck Whaley's nightclub in Dublin after Ireland played a match against the Faroe Islands earlier that evening.

The Blackburn Rovers striker pleaded guilty at an arraignment hearing yesterday.

He has nine caps for the Irish national team and has played for Arsenal, Sunderland, Hibernian and Celtic before signing for rovers earlier this year.
