Jolie, whose voice last graced big screens in 2011's Kung-Fu Panda 2, has enjoyed a lucrative advertising contract with Louis Vuitton, as well as a generous advance payday for her starring role in next year’s Sleeping Beauty adaptation Maleficent. Along with other sources, they brought her total earnings up to approximately €25 million.

The annual list of top paid actresses is complied by Forbes, with Jennifer Lawrence and last year’s top-earner Kristen Stewart completing the latest top three.

Lawrence took home €19.6 million income was thanks to the production of sequels to box-office hits The Hunger Games and X-Men First Class, while her Oscar win for Silver Linings Playbook is likely to see her continue being sought after for both small and blockbuster roles. Stewart also earned big from two blockbusters – Snow White and the Huntsman and the final chapter of the Twilight franchise – with a total of €16.6 million.

Although all top ten actresses broke $10 million (€7.55 million), the earnings are still well behind their male colleagues. Robert Downey Jr. earned €57 million in 2012, while tenth-place Liam Neeson was just below Jolie with €24.3 million.
