Nicolas Anelka has been banned for five matches by the Football Association over his controversial "quenelle" gesture.
The West Brom striker has also been fined £80,000, and ordered to complete a "compulsory education" programme.
The 34-year-old, who denied that the gesture was anti-Semitic, can appeal the sanctions.
His legal team says Anelka is "pleased" that the FA found him not to be an anti-Semite, and he will consider whether to appeal the punishments once he receives the full reasons for the sanctions.
The Frenchman flashed the sign, which is considered anti-Semitic, after scoring a goal in a match in December.
