Andy Murray will play no part in the Rogers Cup next week as he prepares to defend his Olympic title next month in Rio.

The world number two won his third Rogers Cup last year and said in a statement today that he needs to rest his body before the Olympics tennis event which gets underway on August 6.

"My body needs some recovery time after reaching the latter stages of tournaments over the past few months," Murray, said in a statement released by Tennis Canada.
