Fernando Alonso looks set to race at the Malaysian Grand Prix.

The McLaren driver missed Formula 1's season opener in Australia after not being passed fit to compete following a heavy crash in pre-season testing.

Alonso has now been given the green light by his team to take part, and will undergo a final medical assessment by motorsport's governing body, the FIA, on Thursday.
