West Ham striker Carlton Cole has been charged by the Football Association in relation to social media comments.

He is accused of making abusive or insulting words.

In a statement, the FA said: ""It is alleged that the comment was abusive and/or insulting and/or improper and/or brings the game into disrepute."

The 31-year-old got until Thursday evening to respond.
