This morning, you may be very grateful for the extra hour in the bed afforded to you by our clocks going back but we all dread the night they go forward, eating into our sleep.

There is an interesting history of time in Ireland as many may not realise that until relatively recently we had our own time zone; indeed, there were several different time zones across the island.
