In recent weeks, we’ve been treated to some top class action in the GAA but looking to next year, 2021 will mark the 50th anniversary of a landmark moment in the history of the association.

At its first Annual Congress to be held in Ulster, the Association ditched Rule 27 - ambiguous in its wording and always contested in its appliance.

Rule 27 is better known as ‘the ban on foreign games’, but how seriously was it ever taken?
