Yesterday evening the government announced it's plas to take the country out of level 5 lockdown from next week.

On Tuesday retail and most other services will be allowed to re-open, restaurants and pubs that serve food will be allowed to open to indoor dining from next Friday.

People will have to remain within their counties until December 18th - at which point those restrictions will ease, and a maximum of three households will be allowed to gather for Christmas between the 18th of December and January 6th.

This comes despite NPHET advising against opening up as much of the hospitality sector so early.

To dicuss, Sean Defoe was joined by Dr Nuala O’Connor, Cork GP and Clinical Lead on Covid-19 for the Irish College of General Practitioners & Professor Sam McConkey; an Infectious Disease Specialist and Head of the Department of International Health and Tropical Medicine at The Royal College of Surgeons.
